Samsung has released the October 2023 update for the Galaxy A54. The Galaxy A54 went on sale in March and has received a few updates since then; Samsung has also released an Android 14 and One UI 6.0 beta for the device in some regions, allowing them to test out the first major OS upgrade for the Galaxy A54 ahead of its stable release later this year.
For those who aren't on that beta and are still running Android 13 and One UI 5.1, the newest update that's rolling out now brings all the security enhancements included in the October security patch. It is accompanied by firmware version ending in AWJ1 and is rolling out in multiple European countries for both regular and carrier-locked models.
This update doesn't have anything but security enhancements to offer. That is normal for these monthly updates at the moment, as Samsung is busy testing Android 14 and One UI 6.0 for numerous Galaxy smartphones and wouldn't want to spend efforts on the minor updates until it finishes development on the big one.
If you own a Galaxy A54, you can open the phone's settings, navigate to Software update, and tap Download and install to check if the new update is available for your device. You may have to repeat this process a few times or check again in a few days as it may take some time for the update to reach all users. You will also find the latest firmware in our archives, which can be used for manually updating the device using a Windows PC and a USB cable.
