The Galaxy A54 has become the first Galaxy A series phone in Europe to get the One UI 6.1 update. The phone started getting the new One UI update in South Korea yesterday, and the update is now live in European countries as well. The Galaxy A34 could also get the new update in the region soon.
Galaxy A54 gets One UI 6.1 update sans Galaxy AI features
The One UI 6.1 update for the Galaxy A54 is now live (via @tarunvats33) in Europe (Poland as of now), and it comes bearing firmware version A546BXXU7CXDC. It has a download size of around 2.2GB, so we advise you to download it via a Wi-Fi network. If you have a Galaxy A54 and live in Europe, you should now check for the new update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and Install.
We expect the Galaxy A34 to get the One UI 6.1 update in Europe and other regions, including India, soon.
What new features does One UI 6.1 bring to Galaxy A54?
The update doesn't bring any of the Galaxy AI features seen on the Galaxy S24. The only AI-powered features available in the new software are advanced image editing tools and suggestions. You can watch those non-Galaxy AI features in our video below.
The One UI 6.1 update allows you to copy an object from one image (by long pressing it) and paste it into another, offering more accurate object clipping. The Gallery app offers more accurate search results. You can edit videos to change their playback speed (of the entire video or some sections). You can export the video editing file (from Samsung Studio) from one Galaxy device to another and continue editing the video on the other device.
Wallpapers can now have a depth-of-field effect to make the subject (people or pets) stand out. There are new lock screen widgets from stock Samsung apps. You can customize alerts for alarms and reminders using custom backgrounds or colors. You can even customize the placement of alarm information.
The Calendar app lets you decorate the view with stickers. You can add up to two stickers to one date. Calendar settings have been revamped as well. There is an option to customize the category icon in the Reminders app. You can pin any reminder category.
Modes & Routines have been improved with One UI 6.1. You can now reorder Modes, turn off/on Modes from the home screen, and use more conditions for Routines. You can set Routines to start in more situations (like when an alarm is triggered).
One UI 6.1 also brings the new Quick Share feature (merged with Google's Nearby Share). You can create a Samsung Account for children and set controls for it. You can share your location with family and friends via the new Samsung Find app. You can also use the same app to track and locate your Samsung devices. You can sync tab groups from Samsung Internet with multiple devices using the same Samsung Account.
Samsung Cloud now uses end-to-end encryption for advanced data protection. Samsung Wallet now supports passkeys for a quicker and more effortless login experience. One UI 6.1 also brings more battery health protection mechanisms.
Samsung Health now supports custom daily targets. You can compete with yourself through your past workout records. One UI 6.1 supports adding information regarding physical conditions and moods during menstrual cycles for women.
Microphone modes and video call effects can be accessed more easily through quick setting toggles when a call is active. The Weather widget now displays more information. While using the Samsung Keyboard app, you can use voice input to enter text without hiding the keyboard. You can open all minimized apps simultaneously and get Google Search results directly in the Finder (search bar in the app drawer).
