The Galaxy A54, 2023's most feature-packed mid-range Samsung phone, is being updated with the September security patch. The September update has been rolling out to the device for a few days already and is currently available in a handful of markets.
The update comes with firmware version A546xXXS5AWI3, and the only thing you're getting with it is improved security. The update is devoid of any other improvements and new features, and that will likely be the case for all updates released for the Galaxy A54 until it gets Android 14 and One UI 6.0.
Some Galaxy A54 owners can already try out Android 14 and One UI 6.0 through Samsung's One UI beta program (the beta software also includes the September security patch), but the general public rollout will probably take a couple of months to start. Android 14 and One UI 6.0 will bring some interesting new stuff, a lot of which we break down in the video above.
As for the September security update, you can check if it is available by opening your phone's Settings » Software update menu and tapping the Download and install option. You can also check if your country has received the update by going to our firmware archive, where you can also download the latest firmware for the A54 and install it on the phone using a Windows PC.
