
Galaxy A55 gets February 2025 security update in Europe
Samsung has released a new software update for the Galaxy A55. It comes with firmware version A556BXXS6AYB2 and includes the February 2025 security patch that fixes several security shortcomings discovered in the previous software.
The update is currently rolling out across European countries, and it could be released in other regions, including Africa, Asia, Australia (and nearby countries), Latin America, and North America, in the coming days.
If you have a Galaxy A55 and live in Europe, you can check for the new update on your phone by navigating to Settings » Software update » Download and install. You can also download the appropriate firmware version from our firmware database and flash it manually using a Windows PC and the Odin tool.
The Galaxy A55 was launched with Android 14 and One UI 6.1 onboard. The phone was promised four major Android OS updates. It will likely get the Android 15 update in the next few months. Later this year, it could get the Android 16 update. It will get two more Android OS updates in the next two to three years.
