It has been more than a week since Samsung started rolling out the October 2021 security update, but the Galaxy A70 is only now getting access to last month's security patch. The update is currently rolling out in Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam, but it could reach more countries over the next few days.
The Galaxy A70 has started getting a new software update with firmware version A705FXXU5DUI3. Apart from usual bug fixes and stability improvements, the update brings the September 2021 security patch that fixes more than 40 privacy and security-related vulnerabilities. The mid-range smartphone is currently listed under Samsung's quarterly software update schedule.
If you are a Galaxy A70 user in any of the countries mentioned above, you might have already received a notification of the new update. If you haven't received it yet, you can check for it manually by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually.
Samsung had launched the Galaxy A70 in mid-2019 with Android 9 Pie-based One UI. The phone received the Android 10 update last year and the Android 11-based One UI 3.1 update a few months ago.
