Samsung has already released its latest security update to most of its high-end and mid-range smartphones over the past month. The company has now started releasing the September 2021 security update to the Galaxy A71 5G, starting with China. Other markets could also get access to the new update very soon.
The Galaxy A71 5G (SM-A7160) has started getting a new software update in China. It has firmware version A7160ZCU5CUH2 and includes the September 2021 security patch. Earlier this month, the South Korean firm had revealed that the September patch fixes 50 privacy and security-related vulnerabilities. The new update could also bring some bug fixes and devices stability improvements.
Galaxy A71 5G users in China might have received a notification of the new update. If you are among those users and haven't received the update yet, you can check for it manually by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually.
Samsung had launched the Galaxy A71 5G last year with Android 10-based One UI 2 onboard. It received the Android 11-based One UI 3 update earlier this year. The device could get at least one more Android OS update sometime next year.
