A new firmware update is now available for the Galaxy A72 in select countries. Samsung is rolling out the October 2022 security patch for the 2021 upper mid-range phone in a handful of regions, including Slovenia, Serbia, Russia, Ukraine, and Croatia.
Galaxy A72 users in these countries can identify the October 2022 update by firmware version A725FXXS4BVI2. As revealed by the letter “S” in the firmware number, this new release should only contain the new security patch for the month of October.
The Galaxy A72 is joining a couple dozen other Samsung phones and tablets that have received this month's security update. And as usual, although availability is limited to a few markets as of this writing, the update should soon reach more markets.
Users can download the new October update once the notification arrives on theor phones or by opening the Settings app, accessing “Software update,” and tapping “Download and install.” SamMobile readers who prefer manual updates can grab the official firmware files from our website.
And as a reminder for other mid-range Galaxy phone users, Samsung has also rolled out the October update for the Galaxy A13 5G, the Galaxy A52, and the Galaxy A53. This month's security update fixes 32 vulnerabilities affecting Google OS and 18 issues concerning Samsung's own software.
