The Galaxy A73 5G has become the first Galaxy A series smartphone from Samsung to get the January 2023 security update. Over the past couple of days, Samsung has released its newest security update to the Galaxy Note 10 series and the Galaxy S21 series.
The latest software update for the Galaxy A73 is currently rolling out in Malaysia, and we expect it to expand to other countries within the next few days. The new update bumps up the phone's firmware version to A736BXXS2BVL3. While Samsung hasn't revealed which security vulnerabilities it has fixed with the new security patch, it could include most of the patches from Google's January 2023 security patch and some additional vulnerabilities seen in Galaxy devices.
If you are a Galaxy A73 user in Malaysia, you can install the new update immediately. You can do that by heading over to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually.
The Galaxy A73 was launched in early 2022 with Android 12 onboard. Samsung released the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 update to the smartphone a few weeks ago. As per the South Korean firm's promise, the device will get three more Android OS updates in the future.
