Galaxy A90 5G gets better Quick Share and the May 2021 security update

Firmware

Last updated: May 24th, 2021 at 18:04 UTC+02:00

We're nearing the end of the month but Samsung hasn't finished updating all of its numerous Galaxy devices with the May 2021 security patch yet. Fortunately for Galaxy A90 5G owners, Samsung has just begun rolling out a new firmware update for the device in South Korea, and as you may have guessed, it comes with the latest security patch.

Samsung customers in Korea who happen to own the Galaxy A90 5G (SM-A908N) can identify the new update by firmware version A908NKSU3DUE1. As for customers who might be owning the Galaxy A90 5G SM-A908B / SM-A9080 in other markets, as always, the firmware should gradually extend its reach beyond South Korea's borders and go live in more regions. There's no telling exactly when, but it's just a matter of time.

Quick Share improvements should be included

Aside from better security thanks to the addition of the May 2021 security patch, the latest firmware update should also introduce the Quick Share improvements that have been brought over to numerous other Galaxy devices this month.

The Camera improvements appear to be missing, but at least the update seemingly includes a few extra features — better Quick Share, for a start — on top of whatever security enhancements are happening under the hood.

Galaxy A90 5G owners can check if the latest firmware update is available for download from the Software update category inside the Settings app on their phones. SamMobile readers can also refer to our firmware archive where we upload new Samsung updates regularly. They are available for manual download and can be installed on eligible Galaxy phones using a Windows PC.

Thanks for the tip, Amin! Via SamMobile Telegram.
