Samsung started rolling out the One UI 6.1 update for the Galaxy S23 series at the beginning of April, and with this new update came Galaxy AI. It's a suite of artificial intelligence — or advanced intelligence, as Samsung calls it — tools and features that can transform how you use your phone.
Every Galaxy AI tool has its uses, even if some tools might be more situational than others. As for me, my most used Galaxy AI features on the Galaxy S23 are Circle to Search and Generative Wallpaper:
Two AI features that make my S23 feel like new
The two Galaxy AI features I have been using the most on my Galaxy S23 since it received the One UI 6.1 update are Circle to Search and Generative Wallpapers. I use them for different reasons, but both make the S23 feel almost brand new.
Circle to Search is a convenient image and text-based search tool developed by Samsung in collaboration with Google. It resembles Google Lens but is integrated more seamlessly with One UI.
If I see an image or a bit of text when I browse the web and want to know more about it, all I have to do is press and hold the home button/gesture hint on the Galaxy S23 and select the desired item. Circle to Search does the rest.
As for Generative Wallpaper, this isn't as much of a practical feature as it is a really fun one that brings color and a touch of uniqueness to my Galaxy S23.
Using Generative Wallpaper, I can create AI-based wallpapers for my Galaxy S23 by selecting keywords. There's a lot of fun to be had with this Generative AI tool, even if it's relatively barebones and doesn't let you store or share AI-generated wallpapers.
Samsung also rolled out One UI 6.1 with Galaxy AI to the 2022 range of flagships, and a similar update — with only one AI feature — was recently released for high-end phones from 2021.
