Samsung just announced the Galaxy Book 3 lineup, which consists of five models. All new Galaxy Book laptops come with faster processing, better screens, and improved battery life. They also feature some advanced software features through the Galaxy ecosystem. We had a chance to go hands-on with the Galaxy Book 3 Pro and the Galaxy Book 3 Pro 360, and you can watch our video below.

You can pre-order the Galaxy Book 3 Pro and the Galaxy Book 3 Pro 360 today, and they will start shipping by February 17, 2023.

Galaxy Book 3 Pro, Book 3 Pro 360 hands-on video

The Galaxy Book 3 Pro comes in two screen sizes—14-inch and 16-inch—and the Galaxy Book 3 Pro 360 comes in just one size: 16-inch. The biggest change that these new laptops bring over their predecessors is the use of a 120Hz OLED display with a WQXGA+ resolution (2,880 x 1,800 pixels). That's double the refresh rate and 2.7x higher resolution compared to the Galaxy Book 2 Pro series (60Hz refresh rate and Full HD resolution).

Last year's Galaxy Book 2 Pro lineup had 60Hz displays and a standard Full HD resolution, which made them look like not really pro-grade laptops. The company has corrected that mistake, and the new displays should bring a massive improvement in screen quality, offering fluid visuals and higher details. These new screens also feature a 16:10 aspect ratio, which improves productivity. The Galaxy Book 3 Pro 360's S Pen takes advantage of the 120Hz refresh rate to reduce latency and feels more connected.

The next best improvement comes from Intel's 13th Gen processors. The Galaxy Book 3 Pro and the Galaxy Book 3 Pro 360 are powered by Intel's 13th Gen Core i5 or i7 CPU, depending on the model, and an integrated Intel Iris Xe GPU. These new processors offer faster multi-thread performance and slightly longer battery life. The new laptops also feature a new AKG-tuned quad-speaker setup, featuring two 2W tweeters and two 5W woofers.

Multiple Galaxy-exclusive features make Samsung's Galaxy Book 3 Pro laptops special

Samsung is also bringing additional software features, including Expert RAW Auto Share, Galaxy Book Smart Switch, and Samsung Multi Control. Expert RAW Auto Share automatically transfers RAW images instantly from a Galaxy smartphone and opens them up for editing in the Adobe Lightroom app. Galaxy Book Smart Switch helps you transfer data from your old PC to your Galaxy Book 3 series. Samsung Multi Control lets you control your Galaxy smartphone through the Galaxy Book 3's keyboard and trackpad.

The rest of the features remain similar to the Galaxy Book 2 Pro, including a backlight keyboard, Windows Precision trackpad, a Full HD webcam, a fingerprint reader, two Thunderbolt 4 (USB Type-C) ports, a USB 3.2 Type-A port, an HDMI 1.4 port, a microSD card slot, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Both laptops continue to use LPDDR 5 RAM (16GB/32GB) and PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD (256GB/512GB/1TB).

The 14-inch Galaxy Book 3 Pro has a 63Wh battery, while the 16-inch Galaxy Book 3 Pro and the Galaxy Book 3 Pro 360 are powered by a 76Wh battery. Both these laptops can be charged using the bundled 65W USB Type-C PD charger.
