Samsung unveiled its latest Galaxy Book lineup yesterday, and a new Ultra model with NVIDIA RTX graphics is once again the top of the line. On the surface, the Galaxy Book 4 Ultra looks virtually identical to the Galaxy Book 3 Ultra, but several key things have changed on the inside.
The Galaxy Book 4 Ultra even has a touchscreen now and may provide better outdoor visibility thanks to Vision Booster technology. In addition, the laptop ships with a 140W charger that matches the 16-inch MacBook Pro's speed.
Customers have a choice between a 14th-generation Intel Core Ultra 9 or Intel Core Ultra 7 CPU and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 or 4070 graphics chip. All that power demands a great deal of cooling. And indeed, cooling is another critical area in which the Galaxy Book 4 Ultra has improved.
Galaxy Book 4 Ultra features a new cooling system
Samsung confirmed yesterday that the Galaxy Book 4 Ultra lowers heat and fan noise thanks to a “new optimal cooling system.”
The latest Ultra laptop has refreshed the vapor chamber design, and this cooling element is now 11% wider compared to the Galaxy Book 3 Ultra's vapor chamber. In addition, Samsung says the vapor chamber is assisted by a dual fan with uneven blade spacing.
This new system should provide better cooling for the Galaxy Book 4 Ultra's internals, all the while generating less fan noise and allowing the laptop to “operate at its maximum potential.”
Samsung says the Galaxy Book 4 Ultra will go on sale in Korea on January 2, with more select markets gradually joining the release. Until then, the Galaxy Book 3 Ultra remains on sale.
