Samsung is already working on its next-generation laptop lineup. After launching the Galaxy Book 4 series earlier this year, the South Korean firm has already started internally testing the Galaxy Book 5 series, as the Galaxy Book 5 Pro has appeared for the first time on the internet, revealing some of its specifications.

Galaxy Book 5 Pro still uses Intel chip, Arc graphics

Samsung appears to be working on the Galaxy Book 5 Pro, featuring model number NT940XGK-DSD. It was spotted in SiSoftware's database by @momomo_us, which is a popular PC performance benchmarking tool. The upcoming laptop appears to be using an Intel chip with an octa-core CPU and Intel Arc internal graphics. The CPU's performance cores appear to be clocked at 2.8GHz, while efficiency cores appear to be running at 1.6GHz. The Arc GPU in the laptop has 64 compute units and is running at 1.85GHz.

The laptop has 16GB RAM and a 1TB Samsung PCIe 4×4 NVMe SSD. As usual, the laptop will run Windows (most likely Windows 11) OS and come with Galaxy ecosystem features like Buds Auto Switch, Quick Share, and Samsung Gallery. The laptop scored 2,159 points in the benchmark.

Samsung will likely launch the Galaxy Book 5 series early next year or at the end of this year. The upcoming laptop lineup from the South Korean firm might have at least five models:

  • Galaxy Book 5
  • Galaxy Book 5 360
  • Galaxy Book 5 Pro
  • Galaxy Book 5 Pro 360
  • Galaxy Book 5 Ultra

The Galaxy Book 5 Ultra might have a dedicated GPU from Nvidia, similar to how the Galaxy Book 3 Ultra has the Nvidia RTX 3070 and the Galaxy Book 4 Ultra uses the Nvidia RTX 4070. Whether or not it uses Nvidia's RTX 50 series GPU depends on when Nvidia announces its next-generation GPUs.

Watch the comparison of the Galaxy Book 3 Ultra with the Galaxy Book 4 Ultra in our video below.

As usual, the Galaxy Book 5 Pro might come in 14-inch and 16-inch versions, both featuring touchscreen Super AMOLED 2x screens and a slim and lightweight build. They might have an HDMI port, two USB 4/Thunderbolt 4 ports, a USB Type-A port, a fingerprint reader, and a large glass trackpad with Windows Precision drivers.

The Galaxy Book 4 Pro 14-inch might have a backlit tenkeyless (TKL) keyboard, while the 16-inch version might have a full-sized backlit keyboard with a number pad. It might have Wi-Fi 6E/Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and a 2MP webcam as well.
