We're only a couple of days away from Samsung's Unpacked event. There are quite a few products that the company is expected to unveil at its next event. The Galaxy Buds 2 are also likely to be on the list.
Rumors and leaks about the Galaxy Buds 2 have already revealed almost everything there is to know about the new truly wireless earbuds. There's now a second report suggesting that Samsung might offer them at a lower price. This will be music to the ears of customers everywhere.
Galaxy Buds 2 price could be cut significantly
An earlier report mentioned that the Galaxy Buds 2 price could be 15% lower than the Galaxy Buds Pro in Europe. A reduction is also expected in other markets with a new report suggesting an up to 20% decrease in the price.
Counterpoint Research is expecting an up to 20% reduction in the Galaxy Buds 2 price compared to the Galaxy Buds Pro. This would put the new wireless earbuds in the $160-$180 range. The lower price could help increase Samsung's market share in this segment.
Liz Lee, a senior analyst at the market research firm, predicts that if the Galaxy Buds 2 sales go well, Samsung's market share in the wireless earbuds category could reach a record high of 18% or even higher if the price actually ends up being lower than what's predicted right now.
Lee also pointed out that Samsung has outpaced overall growth in the $100 and above earbuds segment since the third quarter of 2020. It might see its market share come under threat when the AirPods 3 come out later this year but it's not like most iPhone owners were ever going to buy a pair of Galaxy Buds.
