Samsung will unveil the Galaxy Buds 2 in August, alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 3, Galaxy Z Fold 3, and the Galaxy Watch 4. Ahead of the launch, the first official images of the Galaxy Buds 2 have been leaked, revealing its final design and color variants. The design and some specifications of Samsung's upcoming true wireless earbuds were leaked via its FCC certification a few days ago.
The design of the Galaxy Buds 2 (SM-R177) appears to have been inspired by the Galaxy Buds Pro. It features a rounded square case and curvy earbuds, similar to the Galaxy Buds Pro. However, Samsung seems to have picked a dual-tone color combination for the Galaxy Buds 2. All the color variants feature the white color on the case's exterior, but the interiors and the earbuds themselves come in black, green, purple, or white. The case has two LED charging indicators, one on the outside and the other on the inside.
The Galaxy Buds 2 seem to feature at least two microphones on each earbud, an IR-based wear detection sensor, and pogo connectors for charging. They are being expected to feature Bluetooth 5.0 (with AAC, SBC, and SSC codecs), AKG-tuned audio, capacitive touch controls, wireless charging, and a companion app for customizing controls and audio profiles. They feature smaller batteries than the Galaxy Buds+, so the battery life might not be as good.
Unlike the Galaxy Buds Pro, the Galaxy Buds 2 might not feature ANC (Active Noise Cancellation).
