A few days ago, Samsung revealed that it is bringing more audio and cross-device features to the Galaxy ecosystem. The company started rolling out new audio and switching-related features to the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro today. This update will make it easier to use the wireless earbuds with Samsung's latest TVs and laptops.
Galaxy Buds 2 Pro gets Auto Switch for Galaxy Books
Earlier today, Samsung released a new firmware update to the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro in Europe and India. It comes with firmware version R510XXUOAXB4 and has a download size of around 6.01MB. This update introduces the Buds Auto Switch feature for automatically pairing the wireless earbuds to Galaxy laptops and PCs. This feature should work with Galaxy Book 3 and Galaxy Book 4 series laptops.
So, when you watch videos on your Galaxy Book laptop and listen to its audio using the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro, and a call arrives on your Galaxy phone, the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro will automatically switch the connection from your Galaxy Book to the Galaxy phone. This feature requires devices running One UI 4.1.1 (or above) and the Continuity Service app (version 1.2.16 or above). To use this feature on a Galaxy Book, the laptop should have the Samsung Settings (v6.0.0 or newer) app installed.
The changelog of the new update also mentions that the reliability and stability of the Bluetooth Auracast feature have been improved. So, when you join a Bluetooth Auracast audio cast using the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro, audio will work more reliably.
