Samsung is expanding its Fan Edition lineup today with the launch of the Galaxy Buds FE. These are the company's first Fan Edition Galaxy Buds, and the South Korean firm aims to bring most of what people love about Galaxy Buds, including ANC and a compact design, at an affordable price point of just $99.
Galaxy Buds FE features
The Galaxy Buds FE features a single-driver setup as opposed to a dual-driver setup seen on the Galaxy Buds 2 and the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro. The new wireless earbuds feature Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity with AAC, SBC, and SSC codecs. They can also automatically switch between Galaxy smartphones, tablets, and laptops, depending on which devices you're actively using. More importantly, the Galaxy Buds FE have ANC (Active Noise Cancellation) and Ambient Sound.
The earbuds have three microphones on each side for clearer voice calls. The wear-detection sensor automatically pauses music when you take the earbuds out of your ears. The earbuds have touch-sensitive controls. The charging case has a design that's similar to other recent Galaxy Buds with a rounded square layout.
Samsung has also improved battery life, with the Galaxy Buds FE offering the longest battery life among all wireless earbuds from the company. With ANC turned off, these earbuds can last up to 8.5 hours on a single charge and up to 30 hours with the charging case. With ANC turned on, the Galaxy Buds FE can last up to 6 hours on a single charge and up to 21 hours with the charging case.
The Galaxy Buds FE comes in black and white colors. With its focus on sustainability, Samsung has incorporated post-consumer recycled plastics sourced from discarded fishing nets and water barrels in the Galaxy Buds FE.
