Samsung launched the Galaxy Buds Pro earlier this year and they're certainly one of the best Samsung earbuds we've seen so far. It goes without saying that the company will eventually launch a successor to these earbuds.
A purported roadmap emerged a couple of weeks ago. It highlighted the possible launch timeline for the Galaxy Buds Pro's successor, ostensibly called the Galaxy Buds Pro 2. We now have some information about the charging case of the upcoming earbuds.
Galaxy Buds Pro 2 will get more juice from the charging case
Samsung previously used a pill-shaped charging case design for its earliest earbuds like the Galaxy Buds and Buds+. The company switched to a different design with the Galaxy Buds Live. It retained that same design for subsequent models like the Buds Live, Buds Pro and Buds 2.
The main reason behind the move was that Samsung could use the same 472mAh battery inside the case for each product. That worked out well over the past year but it looks like Samsung is going to change things up in 2022.
GalaxyClub has found that a new charging case will be used for the Galaxy Buds 2. This case has a new battery bearing part number EB-BR510ABY with a 500mAh capacity. This should add more longevity to Samsung's next-generation earbuds.
We can expect that Samsung will utilize the same charging case for the Galaxy Buds Live 2 as well. The Buds Pro 2 and Buds Live 2 are rumored to hit the market in Q2 and Q3, 2022 respectively. Whether we see the Buds Pro 2 being unveiled alongside the Galaxy S22 series in February next year remains a mystery.
