Galaxy F55 gets August 2024 security update in India
Samsung has released the August 2024 security update to the Galaxy F55 in India. The new software comes bearing firmware version E556BXXU3AXG7 and has a download size of around 455MB. It fixes around 50 security loopholes that were discovered in the previous versions of Samsung's software and doesn't bring any new features or performance enhancements.
If you have a Galaxy F55 and live in India, you can check for the new update right now. To check for the new update, you need to open the Settings app on your phone, navigate to Software update, and tap Download and install. It is better to backup critical data stored on your smartphone before hitting the install button.
Samsung launched the Galaxy F55 a few months ago with Android 14 onboard. The mid-range smartphone, which is based on the Galaxy A55, has a Snapdragon chip and promises four major Android OS updates and five years of security updates. So, the phone will be updated to Android 18 in 2027. It probably won't get the One UI 6.1.1 update, which is expected to bring Galaxy AI features to eligible high-end phones and tablets.
The Galaxy C55, which is a rebranded Galaxy F55, could also get the August 2024 security update in the next few days.
