A few days ago, the design of the Galaxy Fit 3 was leaked. It is a massive improvement over the Galaxy Fit 2, thanks to its much bigger screen. However, it will come at a cost as the Galaxy Fit 3 is reportedly going to cost a lot more than the Galaxy Fit 2, but it might still be welcomed by Galaxy Fit 2 fans.
Galaxy Fit 3 price and release timeline
According to a report from Asia Economy, the Galaxy Fit 3 will be launched in the first half of 2024. However, chances are low that it will be launched alongside the Galaxy S24 series. It may be introduced without a special launch event. It is reported that the Galaxy Fit 3 will be launched before the Galaxy Watch 7 series, which will likely be unveiled alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and the Galaxy Z Fold 6 in the second half of 2024 (likely in August).
The report also claims that the Galaxy Fit 3 will be priced at KRW 100,000 (around $77). In comparison, the Galaxy Fit 2 was launched with a price tag of KRW 49,500 (around $38). A Samsung spokesperson said, “Samsung Electronics official said, “We plan to release the Galaxy Fit 3 within the first half of next year. The Galaxy Fit 2 still has a large fan base, and there have been many requests to release a sequel. The Galaxy Fit 2 is still being actively traded on used trading sites.”
Galaxy Fit 3 features
Since the COVID-19 pandemic, Samsung has been focusing on making health and fitness a large part of its ecosystem. The Galaxy Fit 3 will serve as an expansion to the Galaxy Watch lineup. It will reportedly feature heart rate, sleep, and blood pressure monitoring. It won't feature a microphone and a loudspeaker, so it can't make or receive calls.
Samsung is reportedly the second-biggest smartwatch maker in the world, with a 10% market share. Apple is the clear market leader with a whopping 32% market share, according to market analysis firm TrendForce. Huawei has captured an 8% share of the smartwatch market, while Garmin has a 4% market share. Google's Fitbit is said to have a 3% market share.
