Samsung's aging Galaxy M02 is getting a new update. It's nothing major, but it is reassuring to see that Samsung hasn't forgotten about old low-cost phones such as this one. The Galaxy M02 is now getting the December 2023 security patch.
If you're up to date with recent news, you probably know that Samsung has already revealed the February 2024 security patch details. This means the Galaxy M02 is lagging by a couple of months. Then again, that's to be expected from any budget devices that are no longer supported with regular monthly patches.
At the moment, the December 2023 security update appears to be available only for the SM-M022M Galaxy M02 variant in Panama, but we're guessing other markets and versions, like the SM-M022F and M022G, should get a new security patch soon.
Galaxy M02 users in Panama can now look for firmware version M022MUBS4BXA1. They can check if the update is waiting for them via the Settings app on the phone, after accessing “Software update” and tapping “Download and install.”
