Months after releasing the Android 12 update to mid-range phones like the Galaxy A42 and the Galaxy A52, Samsung has finally released the Android 12 update to the Galaxy M21.
The Android 12 update for the Galaxy M21 comes with firmware version M215FXXU2CVCC. It includes the April 2022 security patch as well that fixes over 88 security vulnerabilities. The update brings Android 12 and a revamped UI design with the Color Palette feature, new and improved widgets, and thicker slider bars.
The South Korean firm has added more widgets for the home and lock screens. The picture-in-picture mode has been improved, too. The Device Care section has been redesigned.
With the One UI 4.1 update, the smartphone has also received improved versions of all stock apps, including Bixby, Bixby Routines, Gallery, Messages, Phone, Reminders, Samsung Internet, Samsung Keyboard, and Samsung My Files.
Samsung has also improved privacy and security on the Galaxy M21 via quick setting toggles to enable/disable camera and microphone access across the system. The company has also added a Privacy Dashboard and privacy indicators (for camera and mic usage). Accessibility features have been improved as well.
