The May 2022 security patch went live last week, and so far, Samsung has made the patch available to a variety of flagship devices, ranging from the Galaxy Tab S8 to the Galaxy Note 20. Now it's time for the budget segment to join in on the latest update, and Samsung is rolling out the May 2022 security patch for the Galaxy M33 5G.
The new security update is presently available for the Galaxy M33 5G (SM-M336B) in Ukraine and Russia, but as always, it should reach more markets at any moment, now that the seal is broken. Don't lose hope if you haven't received the update notification on your Galaxy M33 5G yet. You can also try to trigger the update process from the Settings app on your phone after navigating to the “Software update” section.
And as always, you can refer to our firmware archive, where you can download the latest official Samsung updates for manual installation on your smartphone (model number and region) using a PC. The new security update for the Galaxy M33 5G carries firmware version “M336BXXU2AVD5.”
The Galaxy M33 5G got quietly unveiled in March as one of Samsung's most affordable 5G phones to date, and it became available in most markets last month. The phone ships with Android 12 and One UI 4.1, and now, it takes advantage of the latest security update — where available. More markets should get the new update soon, so try keeping a close eye on our firmware page or news section.
