Over the past two weeks, there has been some chatter about the Galaxy M34 5G. The mid-range smartphone will be launched in India next week. Ahead of the official announcement, Samsung unveiled some of its features and specifications. However, details about its processor were scarce until today.
A new Samsung smartphone with model number SM-M346B appeared in Geekbench's database (via FoneArena). The entry reveals that it will be launched as the Galaxy M34 5G, and it will come equipped with the S5E8825 processor, which is the model number for the Exynos 1280. It is the same processor that was used in the Galaxy A33 5G and the Galaxy A53 5G last year. The chipset is made using a 5nm processor and features two Cortex-A78 CPU cores, six Cortex-A55 CPU cores, and the Mali-G68 MP4 GPU. It is slightly less powerful than the Exynos 1380 chip that was launched earlier this year.
The phone scored 956 points in Geekbench 6.1.0 single-core CPU test and 2,032 points in the multi-core CPU test. The Galaxy M34 5G appears to run Android 13 out of the box, and it will likely run One UI 5.1. Usually, Samsung offers three years of major Android OS updates to its mid-range phones, so we can expect the Galaxy M34 5G to get at least three updates (up to Android 16). This phone will also come in a version with the MediaTek Dimensity 1080 chip.
Going by the information revealed by Samsung, the Galaxy M34 5G features a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED screen with Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It has a 50MP primary camera with OIS and a 32MP selfie camera. It also features a 6,000mAh battery and 25W fast charging. Other features include 8GB RAM and 128GB/256GB storage.
