Samsung has released the One UI 6.1 update to the Galaxy M53. This is the first Galaxy M series phone to get the One UI 6.1 update.

The update came a few days after the company released the One UI 6.1 update for other mid-range devices from the Galaxy A and Galaxy F series.

Galaxy M53 One UI 6.1 update brings new features

The One UI 6.1 update is now available for the Galaxy M53 in Latin American countries. It comes with firmware version M536BXXU5EXD3 and a download size of around 2.2GB. The update brings the April 2024 security patch to the phone, not the May 2024 security patch.

If you have a Galaxy M53 and live in the Latin American region, you can now check for the new update. To do that, navigate to Settings » Software update » Download and install.

Alternatively, you can download the appropriate firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually. You would need a Windows OS computer with the Odin tool installed. Back up all your data if you go through this process.

One UI 6.1 features for Galaxy M53

This new update brings several new features to the Galaxy M53, including copying an object or subject from one image and pasting it into another. It also improves image clipping accuracy. Search quality within the Gallery app has also been improved.

While editing videos, you can change the video playback speed of the entire video or certain parts. You can export video editing projects from the Samsung Studio app to other Galaxy devices and continue editing there.

You can watch some of those features in our video below.

You can add effects and frames to the wallpaper. For example, you can add the portrait effect to make people or pets in the image stand out from the background. The lock screen gets new widgets, custom font options for the lock screen clock widget, and more placement options for the lock screen clock widget.

You can customize alerts for alarms and reminders. For alarms, you can add AR Emojis, images, and videos. For reminder alerts, you can add custom backgrounds or colors. In the Reminder app, you can pin reminder categories and customize icons for the category.

The Calendar app now has a revamped settings screen and supports custom stickers; you can add up to two stickers on each date. You can reorder Modes, turn off/on Modes from the home screen, and use more conditions for Routines.

One UI 6.1 also brings the improved Quick Share feature to Galaxy M53. The new Samsung Find app can be used to track lost or stolen devices and share your location with family and friends. You can also get the location of your family and friends if they agree to share the location with you.

Samsung Internet allows syncing web browser tab groups between Galaxy devices signed into the same Samsung account. Samsung Cloud supports end-to-end encryption for improved security. Samsung Wallet supports passkeys.

Samsung Health now allows you to compete with your past workout records. It also allows women to add physical symptoms and moods to their menstrual cycle tracking. You can also choose different activities and daily goals.

Microphone modes and video effects can be easily accessed through quick setting toggles. The weather widget now shows more forecast data. You can input text via voice through voice dictation without hiding the Samsung Keyboard.

You can also open all minimized apps at once. Finder displays search results from the internet via Google Search. One UI 6.1 also brings more battery health protection options.
