
Samsung has started teasing the launch of a new mid-range smartphone, the Galaxy M56. Ideally, it should be based on the Galaxy A56 that was launched a few weeks ago. However, the Galaxy M56 doesn't have the same processor, and it is closer to last year's Galaxy A55. It brings Galaxy A56's HDR selfie videos feature, though.

The Galaxy M56 will be launched in India on April 17 and will be sold exclusively through Amazon India. On a dedicated webpage on Amazon, Samsung has revealed that the Galaxy M56's design along with some of its features. At just 7.2mm, the phone is thinner than its predecessor, the Galaxy M55 despite having the same battery size (5,000mAh). The new phone weighs the same (180g) as the Galaxy M55.


The upcoming phone also features improved durability, featuring Gorilla Glass Victus+, which is claimed to be 4x stronger than last year's phone. Samsung also claims the Galaxy M56 can survive falls from a height of up to 2 meters. Its Super AMOLED+ screen is 33% brighter and has 36% slimmer bezels. It also features Vision Booster.
It features a 50MP primary rear camera with big pixels, an 8MP ultrawide camera, and a 2MP macro camera. On the front, thephone has a 12MP selfie camera, similar to Samsung's flagship phones. Samsung says its new cameras can capture images and videos with less noise, thanks to big pixels and AI ISP. It also has 2x zoom portraits.


The phone can record 4K 30fps 10-bit HDR videos using the primary rear and front-facing cameras. This is another feature that is similar to Samsung's current crop of high-end phones like the Galaxy S25.
Look At Galaxy A56 Deals
Previous reports suggest that the Galaxy M56 will come equipped with the Exynos 1480 processor, which was used in the Galaxy A55 last year. In this regard, the phone could have slightly lower or similar performance to the Galaxy M55. However, it will come with Android 15 and One UI 7.0 onboard, which could make the phone smoother in day-to-day usage. It will likely get six major Android OS updates, but things will only get clearer next week.
Samsung is also teasing some advanced image editing features, including Edit Suggestions, Image Clipper, and Object Eraser. It could have stereo speakers, in-display fingerprint reader, 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, and 45W fast charging.
