While some Galaxy smartphones are still getting access to the December 2022 security update, the Galaxy Note 10 is way ahead. The smartphone has become the first Android device worldwide to get the January 2023 security update.
The latest software update for the Galaxy Note 10 and the Galaxy Note 10+ comes with firmware version N970FXXS8HVL3. The update is currently rolling out in Switzerland, and we expect its availability to expand to other European countries within a few days. Other regions in the world could also get the update before the end of this month. Samsung hasn't revealed which security vulnerabilities are fixed with the January 2023 security patch, and we expect to see that information later this week.
If you are a Galaxy Note 10 series user in Switzerland, you can download the new software update by heading to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. You can also download the latest firmware file (mentioned above) from our firmware database and flash it manually.
Samsung debuted the Galaxy Note 10 series in the second half of 2019 with Android 9 onboard. The smartphones in the lineup received the Android 10 update in early 2020 and the Android 11 update in late 2020. In late 2021, the smartphones received the Android 12-based One UI 4 update. The Galaxy Note 10 lineup isn't eligible to get the Android 13 update.
