The Galaxy Note 20 and the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra have started getting the latest security update in the US. The unlocked versions of the smartphones have now received the April 2023 security patch in the country, but the carrier-locked units haven't received the new software yet.
The latest software update for the Galaxy Note 20 and the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra comes with firmware version N98xU1UES4HWC9. It brings the April 2023 security patch that fixes over 60 security flaws found in Galaxy smartphones. It might include some stability improvements and other bug fixes as well. However, don't expect to see any new features. The update is now live on almost all carrier networks in the US.
How to install Galaxy Note 20 April 2023 security update?
If you have an unlocked version of a Galaxy Note 20 series phone and if you live in the US, you can now download the new update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually.
Samsung launched the Galaxy Note 20 series with Android 10 onboard. The phones in the lineup received the Android 11 update in late 2020, the Android 12 update in late 2021, and the Android 13 update in late 2022. The company released the One UI 5.1 update to the devices a couple of months ago.
