Samsung's collaboration with Microsoft has strengthened further this year with the launch of the Galaxy Note 20 series. Samsung Notes and Reminders now sync with Microsoft services including OneNote, Outlook, Teams, and To Do, and mobile apps can now run on Windows 10 PCs via Link to Windows. On the entertainment side, samsung's latest flagship phones and tablets have gotten a tie-in deal with Microsoft for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and Project xCloud.
Speaking of tie-in deals, Samsung India announced today that Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G buyers can now take advantage of a discount for Microsoft 365 Family (formerly Office 365 Home). It usually costs INR 5,299 but Galaxy Note 20 owners in India can now buy Microsoft 365 Family at a 22.6% discount, i.e., for INR 4,101. To take advantage of this offer you need to log in to Samsung Shop from your Galaxy Note 20, access the For You section, enter the IMEI number, and validate using a one-time password. You'll then be able to buy Microsoft's family of services at this special discounted price.
Microsoft 365 Family lets up to 6 people access premium apps such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, Access, and Publisher, with the latter two being available only for PC. Buyers will also get Skype and up to 6TB of OneDrive storage (1TB per person) which can be quite handy given that Samsung integrated its Gallery app with OneDrive in December. Keep in mind that you'll be paying for 1-year access to Microsoft 365 Family and you will have to renew your subscription after 12 months, possibly at full price, if you'll want to keep using Microsoft's services in a year's time.
