Earlier this month, Samsung released the May 2023 security update to the Galaxy Note 20 series in Latin American countries. Now, the South Korean firm has released the newest security update to the carrier-locked models of the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra in the US.
Galaxy Note 20 May 2023 security update: What's new?
The latest software update for the carrier-locked Galaxy Note 20 series devices comes with firmware version N98xUSQS4HWE4 in the US. It brings the May 2023 security patch that fixes over 70 security flaws found in Galaxy phones and tablets. The update is currently available on Sprint and T-Mobile's network in the country. Other network carriers in the US could release the update within the next few days.
If you have a carrier-locked model from the Galaxy Note 20 series in the US, you can now check for the new update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. You can also download the newest firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually.
Samsung launched the Galaxy Note 20 series in late 2020 with Android 10 onboard. The phones in the lineup received the Android 11 update in late 2020, the Android 12 update in late 2021, and the Android 13 update toward the end of the year 2022.
