A few days ago, Samsung started rolling out the September 2023 security update to its smartphones. After the Galaxy S22 and the Galaxy S23, it is now Galaxy Note 20's turn to get the new security update. The new software is now available to 4G and 5G versions of Galaxy Note 20 series devices in Europe.
The latest software update for the 4G versions of the Galaxy Note 20 and the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra comes with firmware version N98xFXXS8HWI1. The 5G versions of the Galaxy Note 20 and the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra are getting the new security update with firmware version N98xBXXS8HWI1. The new update brings the September 2023 security patch that fixes over 60 security flaws found in the previous software.
As this is just a security update, don't expect to see any new features or performance improvements on your Galaxy Note 20 series phone. Other countries and regions could get the new update within the next few days.
If you have a Galaxy Note 20 series phone and live in Europe, you can check for the new update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually.
