Galaxy Ring could be launched at the Galaxy Unpacked event in the second half of 2024
According to a new report from ETNews, Samsung is planning to launch the Galaxy Ring at the Galaxy Unpacked 2024 Part 2 event later this year. It will reportedly feature heart rate measurement, blood oxygen level measurement, ECG, and sleep tracking. Apparently, the device can make mobile payments via NFC and even control a paired smartphone. Apparently, the Galaxy Ring is currently in the prototype stage, and its mass production will start in the second quarter of this year.
Samsung Electronics' president TM Roh said last month, “We decided to launch the ring because we believe it is essential to complete digital health in a form factor that can be conveniently worn for a long time.” While all the fitness and health tracking features rumored for the Galaxy Ring are present on the Galaxy Watch series, it is easier to wear, especially during sleep.
Currently, Oura is the market leader in the smart wearable ring segment, and Samsung is looking to gain a foothold in the market with the Galaxy Ring. Even Apple is reportedly working on a smart ring, but it could be launched after several years from now.
