There's a lot of excitement for the Galaxy Ring, the first truly “new” mobile product from Samsung in a while. Samsung teased the Galaxy Ring during the Unpacked event for the Galaxy S24 series last month, only saying that the device will be out later this year.
It may be a while until the company provides more information about its health and fitness tracking ring, but it's evidently working hard to get everything ready before the official launch. Case in point, the Good Lock app is already displaying the Galaxy Ring as an option.
Good Lock has been updated with Galaxy Ring support
As spotted by a user on Reddit, the Good Lock app already lists the Galaxy Ring among the devices for which you can show the battery status on a widget. It's a useful feature that enables you to check the battery status of all connected devices.
The Galaxy Ring hasn't been officially launched yet so nobody has it right now. However, Samsung has clearly made the required updates to the Good Lock app to provide support for the widgets when the Galaxy Ring is ultimately launched later this year.
Details on the Galaxy Ring are slim at this point in time. Samsung has said that this wearable device comes with leading sensor technologies that enable users to take a comprehensive yet simplified approach to wellness tracking. Someone who got to experience a prototype of the Galaxy Ring at Unpacked mentioned that it's very light and comes in three different finishes.
Expect Samsung to provide more information about the Galaxy Ring in the coming months. If all goes according to plan, the company may very well be able to release this much-awaited device before the end of this year.
