The time has come for the availability of the Galaxy Ring to expand in the Americas. Yesterday, Samsung announced the launch of the Galaxy Ring in Brazil. Today, the company turned its attention to the North American continent, and more specifically, Mexico.

Starting this week, Samsung accepts pre-registrations for the Galaxy Ring in Mexico. The pre-registration period lasts until October 2, and prospective Galaxy Ring buyers who register can earn an MXN 1,000 ($51) discount coupon.

Pre-sales start October 3

Galaxy Ring shoppers who pre-register by October 2 will be able to use their MXN 1,000 discount coupon to lower the price of the wearable during the next phase — the pre-sale phase.

Once the registration window closes, pre-sales should start a day later, on October 3. That's when Samsung should unveil the Galaxy Ring's price for Mexico, along with more launch date details.

For now, the pre-registration process doesn't involve any monetary transactions. Simply, people who are considering buying the Galaxy Ring in Mexico can go to Samsung's official pre-registration page, leave a name and an email address, and show their interest. If they decide to pre-order the Galaxy Ring after October 3, Samsung will reward them with a discount.

More details after the video

The Galaxy Ring is the first of its kind in Samsung's portfolio. It's the company's first smart ring. It was released in most markets on July 24, but in others, the launch was scheduled for a later date. Perhaps Samsung wanted to test the waters before going truly global with its first-ever smart ring.

In most markets, the Galaxy Ring costs $400, give or take. And unlike other smart rings from different brands, Samsung's Galaxy Ring doesn't require a subscription. Every health and fitness feature is available through the Samsung Health and Monitoring apps without hidden costs.

The Galaxy Ring can help you track your sleep, heart rate, stress levels, and menstrual cycles. It's equipped with an accelerometer, a photoplethysmography (PPG) sensor, and a temperature sensor.
