Samsung has released the August 2021 security update to a bunch of Galaxy smartphones, including the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S21, Galaxy Note 20, Galaxy A52, Galaxy Z Flip, and the Galaxy Fold. Now, the Galaxy S10 Lite has received the new security patch ahead of its cousins.
The new software update with firmware version G770FXXS5EUG5 is now rolling out to the Galaxy S10 Lite in Spain. More markets will get this update over the next few days. The new update includes the August 2021 security patch that fixes 40 security and privacy-related vulnerabilities in Galaxy smartphones and tablets.
If you are a Galaxy S10 Lite user in Spain, you can either wait for the OTA update to arrive on its own or check for it manually. Checking for the update manually requires you to navigate to Settings » Software update and then tap on Download and install on your smartphone. You can also flash the new firmware manually using a Windows PC, and you can find the firmware file in our firmware database.
Samsung had launched the Galaxy S10 Lite in February 2020 with Android 10 on board. The smartphone received the Android 11-based One UI 3.0 update in December 2020 and the One UI 3.1 update in March 2021. The smartphone could get two more Android OS updates in the future.
