Samsung has released the December 2023 security update to the 4G and 5G variants of the Galaxy S20 FE in several countries across Asia and Europe. The company's last security update for the year was released to the 4G Snapdragon version of the phone a few days ago in some Asian countries and Australia.

The new software update for the 4G version of the Galaxy S20 FE comes with firmware version G780FXXSEFWK8. This update is available in several countries across Asia and Europe. The update for the Galaxy S20 FE 5G is available in Colombia, Ecuador, and Guatemala with firmware version G781BXXS9HWL6. The update fixes around 75 security vulnerabilities discovered in the previous version of the software.
If you have a Galaxy S20 FE or a Galaxy S20 FE 5G, you can now check for the new security update on your device. To do that, navigate to Settings » Software update and tap Download and install. You can also download the appropriate firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually. You would need a computer running Windows OS and having the Odin tool installed for the manual flashing process.
Samsung launched the Galaxy S20 FE three years ago with Android 10 onboard. The phone received the Android 11 update in late 2020, the Android 12 update in late 2021, and the Android 13 update in late 2022. It isn't eligible to get the Android 14-based One UI 6.0 update that has been rolling out to newer phones over the past couple of months. To use Android 14, you can upgrade to the Galaxy S23 FE.
