Samsung's first Fan Edition smartphone, the Galaxy S20 FE, has started getting the latest security update. Both LTE and 5G versions of the smartphone have started getting the update but in limited markets. More countries could get Samsung's new update within the next few days.
The latest software update for the Galaxy S20 FE (LTE) comes with firmware version G780FXXU9DVE7 in Russia. The Galaxy S20 FE 5G's newest update comes with firmware version G781BXXU4FVE8 in the Baltic region, Germany, Ireland, Luxembourg, Portugal, and Slovakia. The June 2022 security patch fixes over 60 privacy and security vulnerabilities and improves device stability.
If you are a Galaxy S20 FE user in Russia or a Galaxy S20 FE 5G user in Europe, you can download the latest software update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also download the respective firmware files mentioned in the article through our database and flash them manually.
The Galaxy S20 FE and the Galaxy S20 FE 5G were launched in the second half of 2020 with Android 10 on board. The phones received the Android 11-based One UI 3 update in early 2021 and the Android 12-based One UI 4 update in early 2022. They will get the Android 13 update later this year or early next year.
