Samsung has started rolling out the May 2023 security update to the Galaxy S20 FE in several countries across Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, and North America. The new update is rolling out to both Exynos and Snapdragon versions of the Galaxy S20 FE.

The latest software update for the Exynos version of the Galaxy S20 FE (SM-G780F) comes with firmware version G780FXXUBFWD2. The Snapdragon LTE version of the smartphone (SM-G780G) is getting the new security update with firmware version G780GXXU4EWD2. The update is rolling out to these two smartphones across Asia, Africa, Europe, and Latin America.
The international version of the Galaxy S20 FE 5G is getting the update with firmware version G781BXXS5HWD4 in European countries.
The carrier-locked version of the Galaxy S20 FE 5G (SM-G781U) gets the update with firmware version G781USQSAHWD4 in the US. AT&T, Cricket, Dish Wireless, Metro PCS, Sprint, T-Mobile, and US Cellular have released the update in the US. Interestingly, Samsung hasn't released the update to the unlocked version of the phone.
If you have a Galaxy S20 FE in any of the countries mentioned above, you can check for the new update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. You can also use a Windows PC and the Odin tool to manually flash the new firmware. You can download the appropriate firmware for your phone from our firmware database.
