Two weeks ago, the Galaxy S20 FE 5G started getting the latest security update. In fact, it was the first phone in the Galaxy S20 lineup to get the new update. A few days later, the Galaxy S20 FE (4G Snapdragon) got the same update. Now, the update has been released to the Galaxy S20 FE 5G in the US.

The latest software update for the Galaxy S20 FE 5G (SM-G781U) is rolling out with firmware version G781USQS9FVI5. It is available for the carrier-locked version of the phone in the US. Right now, the update has been released on T-Mobile's network in the US, and we expect other carriers to release the update soon. The October 2022 security patch fixes over four dozen security vulnerabilities.

If you are a Galaxy S20 FE 5G user in the US with a carrier-locked version, you can download and install the October 2022 security update by heading to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our database and flash it manually.

The unlocked version of the Galaxy S20 FE 5G has received the update yet, but we expect it to get the new software within a few days.
