Owners of the Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S21 Fan Edition phones have been a little discriminated against as far as the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 update is concerned. While the main Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S21 trios got the update pretty quickly, the FE models were stuck in limbo for some time before Samsung finally got around to updating them.
The Galaxy S20 FE has received the update in a few European markets, and today, it's reportedly getting Android 13 in India. The Galaxy S20 FE was a major hit in the Indian market so there should be a lot of happy customers that can dig into the new OS over the weekend.
Unfortunately, Samsung has only released the update for the LTE variant of the Galaxy S20 FE. The 5G variant shouldn't be too far behind, though, and we'll let you know once that variant starts receiving the update and leaps on to Android 13 and One UI 5.0 in India.
The Galaxy S20 FE Android 13 update for the Indian market comes with firmware version G780FXXUAEVK3 and the November 2022 security patch. It seems to only be available over the air at this time (to download it, just open the phone's Settings app, select Software update, then hit Download and install), but it should also be making its way to our firmware archives in the near future for everyone who likes to manually upgrade their phone.
