The Galaxy S20 FE has started getting its last software update for the year. The device is now getting the December 2023 security update, which is rolling out now in some countries in Asia and in Australia. The Galaxy S20 FE 5G has already received this security update in some countries.
Galaxy S20 FE gets December 2023 security update in Asia and Australia
The latest software update for the LTE version of the Galaxy S20 FE comes with firmware version G780GXXS8EWK8. The new update is currently available in Australia, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, and Vietnam. The update brings the December 2023 security patch that fixes around 75 security vulnerabilities discovered in the previous software version. The phone isn't getting any performance improvements or new features with this update.
If you live in any of the countries mentioned above and have a Galaxy S20 FE (LTE), you can now check for the new update and install it. To do that, navigate to Settings » Software update and tap Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually.
Samsung launched the Galaxy S20 FE in 2020 with Android 10 onboard. The affordable high-end phone received the Android 11 update in late 2020, the Android 12 update in late 2021, and the Android 13 update in late 2022. It won't get the Android 14 update that is rolling out to some of the more recent Samsung phones.
