Samsung had released the October 2021 security update to the Galaxy S20 FE 5G last week. Three days ago, the update was released to the Snapdragon version of the Galaxy S20 FE. The South Korean firm has now released a new security update to the Exynos 990 variant of the Galaxy S20 FE.
The Galaxy S20 FE (SM-G780F) has started getting a new software update in Russia. It comes with firmware version G780FXXS7CUI5 and includes the October 2021 security patch. Last week, Samsung revealed that the October 2021 patch fixes more than 60 vulnerabilities related to privacy and security in Galaxy devices. The new update could also bring general bug fixes and stability improvements.
If you are a Galaxy S20 FE user in Russia and haven't received the new update yet, you can check for it manually by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also download the latest firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually.
Samsung had launched the Galaxy S20 FE in the second half of 2020 with Android 10-based One UI 2.5 on board. The device received the Android 11-based One UI 3.0 update in December 2020 and the One UI 3.1 update earlier this year. It will get two more Android OS updates in the future.
