Earlier this month, Samsung released the March 2024 security patch for the international variants of the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and Galaxy S20 Ultra. Now, it is making the latest security update available to the carrier-locked variants of the three smartphones for the US, which carry model numbers SM-G981U, SM-G986U, and SM-G988U.
The firmware that brings the March 2024 security patch for these smartphones comes with version G98XUSQS8HXC1. The latest security update fixes 45 security vulnerabilities. At the moment, the update is live only for devices on the US Cellular network. Samsung should expand it to phones on other networks soon. Expect the company to roll out the update to carrier-unlocked variants of the devices in the next few days.
As usual, if your Galaxy S20 hasn’t notified you about the latest security patch, you can check for it manually by going to Settings » Software update » Download and install. You can also get the firmware from our database and install it manually. For that, you need a Windows PC and Odin, apart from experience in flashing firmware manually.
