Samsung started rolling out the May 2023 security update earlier this month, and the new software has already been released to several mid-range and high-end smartphones. Today, the company started rolling out the May 2023 security update to the Galaxy S20 series in some Latin American countries.
Galaxy S20 May 2023 security update is now available
The latest software update for the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and Galaxy S20 Ultra comes with firmware version G98xFXXSGHWD4 for the 4G versions. The update for the 5G versions of the phones comes with firmware version G98xBXXSGHWD4. The update brings the May 2023 security patch that fixes more than 70 security flaws that were found in Galaxy smartphones, and half a dozen of them were termed critical.
The update is available in Argentina, Bolivia, Paraguay, and Uruguay right now and is expected to expand to more Latin American markets over the next few days. More countries around the world could get the May 2023 security update for the Galaxy S20 series over the next few weeks.
If you have a Galaxy S20 series phone in any of the countries mentioned above, you can download the new software by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually using a Windows PC.
