Alright people, it's happening: Samsung is beginning to roll out the official Android 12 and One UI 4.0 update to many more of its devices before the year ends as a holiday gift for many of its customers. The Galaxy S20 series (including the S20 FE) and the Galaxy Note 20 series have just begun receiving the update, making Samsung's lead over the competition in the Android 12 update race even bigger.
Of course, we're hoping Samsung has done all the work needed to make sure these updates work as intended and don't cause any major issues. And if that ends up being the case, it will be quite impressive, because never before has Samsung been this quick with releasing a new version of Android for even one of its devices, let alone five of them (nine, if you count each Galaxy S20 and Note 20 model separately).
For now, the rollout seems to be limited to Switzerland, but more markets should join in on the fun in the coming days (unless Samsung decides to halt the rollout because of issues discovered in the new software). If you own a Galaxy S20 or Note 20-series device, you can check if the update is available for you by opening the phone's Settings » Software update menu and tapping Download and install.
As always, you will also be able to find the latest firmware in our archives once it's released for your country. While you wait, check out the video below to see what kind of new features you can expect with One UI 4.0 and Android 12!
