Even the unlocked variants of the smartphones in the US have begun getting the newest security update. The carrier-locked variants of the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and the Galaxy S20 Ultra haven't received the December 2021 security patch in the US yet.
The latest software update for the LTE variants of the Galaxy S20 and the Galaxy S20+ comes with firmware version G98xFXXSCDUK1, and it is available in France. The 5G variants of the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and the Galaxy S20 Ultra are getting new updates with firmware version G98xBXXSCDUK1 in France. The December 2021 security update fixes dozens of privacy and security-related vulnerabilities.
The unlocked variants of the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and the Galaxy S20 Ultra are getting new updates with firmware version G98xU1UES2DUK1 on AT&T, Bluegrass Cellular, Comcast, C-Spire, and Verizon's network in the US. Samsung will release the new update to other variants of the Galaxy S20 over the next few days.
If you are a Galaxy S20 series smartphone user in the aforementioned regions, you can check for the new update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also download the appropriate firmware file for your smartphone from our database and flash it manually.
