Last week, Samsung released the May 2022 security update to the Galaxy S20 lineup in non-US markets. Now, the update has been released to the carrier-unlocked variants of the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, Galaxy S20 Ultra, and the Galaxy S20 FE 5G in the US.
The latest software update for the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and the Galaxy S20 Ultra bears firmware version G98xU1UES2EVE1. The update for the Galaxy S20 series is available on all US carrier networks, including AT&T, Sprint, Tracfone, T-Mobile, and Verizon. For the Galaxy S20 FE's carrier-unlocked model, the new software has firmware version G781U1UES7EVD4.
The new update includes the May 2022 security patch that fixes dozens of privacy and security-related vulnerabilities. It also includes general bug fixes and software stability improvements.
If you are a Galaxy S20 or Galaxy S20 FE 5G user in the US with a carrier-unlocked model, you can now download and install the latest software update by heading over to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also download the latest firmware file from our database and flash it manually.
