Samsung is expanding the rollout of the August 2024 security update to its smartphones and tablets. The company has now released the new security update to the Galaxy S21, but currently, the update is only available in one country. Soon, the update will reach more countries.
Galaxy S21 August 2024 update is now available
The new security update is now available for the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra. The update comes bearing firmware version G99xBXXUCGXGC, which is available in Vietnam. We expect the new software update to be released to many more countries in the next few days.
This new update brings the August 2024 security patch to the Galaxy S21 series to fix nearly 50 security vulnerabilities discovered in the previous version of the software.
If you have a Galaxy S21 series smartphone and live in Vietnam, you can now check for the new update on your phone by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. If you prefer the manual firmware flashing method, you can download the new firmware file from our database and use the Odin tool for manually flashing it.
Samsung launched the Galaxy S21 series in early 2021 with Android 11 onboard. The phones in the lineup received the Android 12 update in late 2021, the Android 13 update in late 2022, and the Android 14 update in late 2023. The Galaxy S21 series will get its last major update, Android 15, before the end of this year.
