The Galaxy S21 FE had not received the Android 13 update weeks after the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra received it. Even cheaper devices like the Galaxy A33 5G and the Galaxy A52 5G got the Android 13 update before the Galaxy S21 FE. So, users of Samsung's latest Fan Edition phone were quite irritated, especially those living in India. However, they can finally rejoice.
The Galaxy S21 FE has received the Android 13 update in India. The update comes with firmware version G990EXXU3DVK4 and brings One UI 5.0 to the device. However, it doesn't get the November 2022 security patch and is still limited to the October 2022 patch. If you are a Galaxy S21 FE user in India, you can install the new update by heading to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. You can also download the latest firmware file and flash it manually.
The European version of the Galaxy S21 FE received the update two weeks ago. Even some carrier-locked units of the phone got updated to One UI 5.0 in the US. The carrier-unlocked units of the smartphone are yet to get the update in Canada, China, and the US.
Samsung launched the Galaxy S21 FE in early 2022 with Android 12 onboard. The phone comes with a promise of four major Android OS updates, and it has received one of them. It will get three more Android OS (up to Android 16) updates in the future.
