The Galaxy S21 FE is finally looking like it's actually on its way. We were told by our sources that the S21 FE would be unveiled at CES next year, and a recent report suggests the launch may be brought forward by a couple of days to January 4. Earlier today, marketing materials showing the phone in all its glory leaked online, and now, we're getting yet another glimpse at it thanks to leaked pictures of Galaxy S21 FE cases.
These pictures feature three Galaxy S21 cases: There's a silicone cover, a clear case, and a standing clear case that sports a kickstand. The silicone cover is shown in orange, green, violet, white, and black/gray – it's worth noting that the phone itself is not expected to come in orange, suggesting Samsung will offer cases that offer additional hues over those of the device. That would be a good move, seeing as how the Galaxy S21 FE isn't going to have as many color options as there were for the Galaxy S20 FE last year.
The relatively limited color options might be the least worrying thing about the Galaxy S21 FE, though. The leak from earlier today suggested the cameras on the Galaxy S21 FE could be downgraded compared to the Galaxy S20 FE, with the latter's 3x optical zoom camera replaced by a useless depth sensor.
Nothing is confirmed as of this moment, but considering the Galaxy S21 FE will be competing with the base Galaxy S22 model and the existing Galaxy S21, we can see Samsung making a few cutbacks to make sure the S21 FE's pricing is even more attractive than its predecessor's. Yes, those cutbacks are expected to include the microSD slot, which was also missing on the flagship Galaxy S21 models.
